Message From Shadow
In trying to build the definitive online discography for all products related to my music, we’ve discovered many gaps, as well as several surprises. For example, I had completely forgotten that the CUBE Magazine/Unkle picture disc existed until stumbling on a box buried in storage a few weeks ago. Therefore, THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS. I’m human; I forget stuff.
There are obviously other online discographies related to myself and Mo’ Wax, many of which are EXTREMELY thorough, but I’ve also noticed a lot of errors and inconsistencies. So, I am only including those items that I physically own and can hold in my hand. If you would like to point out glaring errors or omissions, email generalinfo@djshadow.com Please provide a photo of your item, or a high-quality scan, and we’ll consider amending or including the product. Trying to locate all of the items that I raided from the Mo’ Wax cabinet, or was handed on a Japan tour 15 years ago, is an ongoing process, so expect more additions and corrections in the weeks and months to come.
Also, please note that I am only including items that contain my music, so other Mo’ Wax and Quannum releases won’t be seen here. My criteria for inclusion is, “does it contain any music of mine on it?” If yes, it’s in. If no, it’s out. Otherwise this section would be unmanageable.
One of the most-asked questions on the site is, “How can I tell if my copy of Lesson 4/Brainfreeze/Diminishing Returns, etc. is real?” For all of those people, and for any collectors that might be viewing, we have tried to include notes within the discography alerting you to any item that may have been bootlegged or is particularly obscure. Think of it as “a guide to collecting DJ Shadow,” contained within the item descriptions. This feature, too, will be enhanced as information is confirmed.
The discography has been neglected for a while now, so I’m glad to have turned my attention to it again, albeit for a short time. Again, there will be mistakes, and there will be omissions. But with your help, I hope to eventually be able to call this work-in-progress what I’ve always wanted to: the DEFINITIVE discography of all things DJ Shadow.

Notes
Midway through the 2002 world tour supporting The Private Press, Shadow finds himself in the German countryside, playing one of the many European festivals that operate during the Summer months. The crowd is intense and attentive, the perfect audience for a Shadow show. From the menacing throb of “Fixed Income” to the climax of “High Noon,” it’s a sharp, powerful set, punctuated by bursts of scratching and meticulous blends. Those familiar with the In Tune and On Time DVD and CD will notice a few unique sections, including a mix built around “Nursery Rhyme.”
Recalling his memories of the evening, Shadow says, “I walked to another area to do some sort of televised interview…I think it was for German MTV. I had some time to kill, so I walked over to see part of the Chemical Brothers’ set. I wanted to see what sort of visuals and lights they were using. Then I walked back to my tent to watch the end of Morcheeba’s set. I remember that they went one “reprise” too many, and the crowd got tired of cheering…so when they finished with a big crescendo, it was just dead silence! I thought it was funny, but I felt for them…sometimes you just never know how a crowd will react. Like the time the union lighting guy at Roseland blasted my audience with strobes for the entire 15-minute encore…but that’s another story…”

I Was in Cannes too three years ago especialy to see Shadow, and i was also affraid by the crowd, I was ashamed of the public who just want to hear organ donor and didn't respect the whole show. It seems that they didn't like the Chris James prestation but i foundit cool. They kill my pleasure for the first time i see Dj Shadow on live, and Shadow didn't look very happy.

I saw/heard you in Cannes like 3 years ago with the Puppet Mastaz. The audience wasn't really in it(shouting, whistling when came songs with a really talented singer),and my girlfriend and I felt really sorry for you. We drove 400 miles, my girl with a broken leg, just for you, and were shocked by the audience reactions. I don' t think Cannes was the best place for you to play, although:small and very rich town.I hope you don't think all French are that stupid, and you' ll come back visit us soon!
Its good to see you reacting with the crowd. Usually less is more ya' know...
